I hope you all had a nice weekend.
I didn’t have too much to do this weekend so I spent some time on a simple makeover of one of my barn finds.
This is what I started with.
An odd table/lamp combination.
It was hard to get a good picture because a couple of the legs were broken and it wouldn’t stand.
This cage looking piece at the top housed a light bulb and I guess it was meant to resemble a lantern.
I cleaned the table and dismantled the lamp portion as I only wanted to use the table.
After some nailing, gluing and painting, this was my new little side table.
It may not show in the picture, but after I looked at the finished table, I thought the tabletop looked too small for the table base.
I had this thrift store tabletop in my basement (from one of those tables you screw the legs into). It also came with a glass topper.
I removed the metal pieces and placed it on top of the table.
It was a much better proportion.
Here’s a picture of the table with the new top painted and the glass topper added.
What I like about the glass on top is that the look of the table can change depending on what’s under the glass.

A doily……..
or maybe a grain sack.
I was going to put this in my booth but now I’m having a hard time giving it up.
It seems a lot of my barn-picking haul is finding a spot in my house….not the booth.
I cleaned up this divided box and it quickly found a spot on my coffee table to corral my magazines and remote.
This was not the plan when I brought this stuff home but I am having fun redecorating the house.
