Refurbished end of the bed bench

I kind of got away from sharing more of what was done to our master bedroom makeover… I  got caught up and excited about decorating for summer. Before I start with this post I really would like to thank Marty over at A Stroll Thru Life for sharing where she purchased her checked drapes, which are really table cloths. I love the colors and check pattern and think it really adds to our master bedroom makeover and to the refinished and newly upholstered storage bench.

A few years ago I found this bench in a dumpster outside my business I once had,  it was in perfect shape… so… YES… I dumpster dived.

I have always kept the seat part covered up… didn’t care for the print, but loved the shape of the bench. Recently it was painted to match the rest of the furniture in the bedroom and now finally…  the seat has been reupholstered.

While all the furniture and accessories were being refinished, I decided to change out the bedding a bit by changing out the color of the peach colored chenille bedspread to a greyish  blue which now matches all the highlights in the furniture, accessories and lamp.

I like how the bench gives the room a little pop.  And with the new grayish blue quilt… it gives off  a softer touch to the room and pulls it all together! I will be adding more of these color touches to the bedroom.

Don’t you just love when the camera comes out and how your pets decide to photo bomb you… and of course  I didn’t have the heart to move her she was definately enjoying the sun coming through the window.
