Revamped Camo Dresser

Happy Thursday! Thrifty Thursday is going to have to wait until tomorrow because I’m very excited to debut this camo dresser transformation. This ugly interesting piece came from Goodwill in Herndon, VA. I saw it from across the room and knew that it would be a great, functional dresser with a little bit of TLC.

I had to sand the dresser down with a power sander to remove the paint build up from the hand painted camo. There is still a little bit of paint build up left, but I really love the look of it under the new paint. It makes the piece look weathered and old. I painted one coat of Zinsser Bulls Eye Zero Primer-Sealer to cover up the very dark paint and then painted two coats of Annie Sloan French Linen. Then I distressed it a bit and applied two coats of Minwax Polycrylic Finish.

I replaced the original knobs with hand painted World Market knobs to make the dresser more unique and give it a fun whimsical feel.
